Vitamin E supplementation enhances immune response in the elderly.

.

Abstract

In a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, healthy older adults (60 years or above) in a metabolic research unit received either a placebo or oral vitamin E supplements (800 mg dl-alpha-tocopherol acetate) for 30 days. The E supplementation improved some in vivo and in vitro parameters of immune function.
