The utilization of magnetic resonance imaging in physiology.

J R Alger1, J A Frank.

Abstract

The literature that we have surveyed suggests that MRI will follow the somewhat unusual path from a routine clinical tool to a valuable instrument in physiological research. Its ability to provide both anatomic and limited functional information makes it possible for the physiologist to develop a detailed understanding of an intact mammalian system.
