Abstract
This study was designed to investigate whether the intensity of experimental febrile seizures reduces the threshold to generalized tonic-clonic epilepsy and its effects on the development of generalized absence epilepsy in adulthood. For the evaluation of absence epilepsy, WAG/Rij rats and for the tonic-clonic seizures, PTZ injected Wistar rats were used. Our results showed that while the frequency of the experimental febrile seizures facilitates PTZ-induced generalized tonic-clonic seizures, it does not influence the properties of absence epileptic seizures in adulthood.Entities:
