Abstract
A standardized documentation of echocardiographic studies is necessary to provide comparability of data and to realize software-based documentation and electronic communication, both essential for quality management in echocardiography.Therefore, the subgroup on "Standardization and LV function" of the working group on cardiovascular ultrasound of the German Cardiac Society developed a consensus report for documentation of echocardiographic studies, which was first published in 2000. This report represents the current update of the standardized documentation for echocardiography; its impact for quality management in conjunction with the "guidelines echocardiography" is discussed.Mesh:
