Abstract
Heart failure (HF) is a progressive, debilitating syndrome with significant physical and psychological comorbidities. As psychosocial variables have been found to contribute to HF morbidity and mortality, methods to improve mental health and quality of life have been explored. This study examined the effects of mutual goal setting and supportive-educative nursing interventions on mental health and quality of life. An experimental, repeated-measures design with a convenience sample of 88 participants was used. The mutual goal setting nursing intervention was found to significantly support improved mental health and quality of life in this population over a 6-month period.Entities:
