Abstract
The development of atherosclerotic disease and stroke has been related to a number of host and environmental factors delineated in recent years. The relative impact of each of these risk factors is becoming clearer, and controlled clinical trials have demonstrated the efficacy of risk factor modification in stroke prevention. This article reviews the incidence of stroke, various risk factors including hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and race, and stroke prevention through risk factor management.Entities:
