Abstract
A 67-year-old woman was admitted to the coronary care unit for chest pain with ECG modifications suggestive of acute myocardial infarction. The clinical course of the disease and the absence of abnormalities of the epicardial vessels with reversible asynergy of the apical segments of the left ventricle were suggestive of the syndrome of transient apical ballooning of the left ventricle. To my knowledge, this is the first case of the disease described in the Italian population.Entities:
