Abstract
The hormonal changes and maternal adaptations of human pregnancy are among the most remarkable phenomena in nature. Endocrinologic parameters in the early gestation period have been used to predict abnormal pregnancies and to identify fetuses that have chromosomal aberrations. This article focuses on the changes in hormones that are secreted by the maternal-fetal-placental unit that are unique for the first trimester of pregnancy and their impact on clinical outcome.Entities:
