Abstract
This chapter describes the metabolic pathways for Neurospora crassa in the biosynthesis of amino acids, purines, pyrimidines, vitamins, and cofactors, and for glycolysis, the TCA and glyoxylate cycles and the initial stages of the pentose phosphate pathway. For each step in metabolism, the gene or genes within the genome sequence of the species is identified, correlations are made with previously identified genes, and new gene designations are assigned to others. For each gene, details given are the function of the gene product, contig location, comparison of the genetic and physical map location, Saccharomyces cerevisiae homolog, and perhaps others, and the level of similarity.Entities:
