Abstract
Developmental observations in foot laterality suggest increasing right-footedness from early childhood to young adult years, with few reports on behaviour beyond this time frame. This investigation confirmed recent suggestions by Porac (1996) of a continuation of this trend into middle and older adulthood, along with significant decreases in mixed-and left-foot preferences. Trends towards increasing right-footedness are linked to hemispheric heterochrony (right hemisphere ageing) and the right-sided world phenomenon.Year: 2000 PMID: 15513131 DOI: 10.1080/713754351
