Abstract
The aging of the United States population means that treatment of hypertension in the elderly is becoming an increasingly important issue, and the pathophysiology, consequences, and benefits of treatment are quantitatively different in older and younger people. There are several issues to be addressed, which include the significance of pulse pressure as a risk factor, the reliability of measurement of blood pressure in the elderly, choice of drugs and lifestyles, and management of the very old.Entities:
