Abstract
Endometrial ablation is defined as the elimination of the endometrium by thermal energy or resection. It was introduced in the 1980s as an alternative to hysterectomy to those patients with abnormal uterine bleeding and benign pathology who are unable or unwilling to tolerate traditional therapies.
