Abstract
A case of a woman with arthrogryposis multiplex congenita presenting for elective caesarean section is reported. A combined spinal epidural anaesthetic technique was used. Aetiology and anaesthetic considerations for patients with arthrogryposis multiplex congenita are discussed. The importance of early referral to the anaesthetic team of patients with intercurrent disease or congenital syndromes is emphasised.Entities:
