Double-blind randomized trial of nicotinamide on early-onset diabetes.

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To determine the efficacy of nicotinamide in inducing remission in early-onset insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS: This study was a double-blind, randomized clinical trial.
CONCLUSIONS: Nicotinamide failed to induce remission or differences on beta-cell secretion between the two groups.
