Recurrent respiratory illness in the young child.

A S Kemp1, M J Shelton.

Abstract

Recurrent respiratory infections in young children are very common. It may be normal for a toddler or a pre-school child to get up to 10 respiratory infections a year without indicating immunodeficiency. As the natural tendency is for this to improve with time, the major aim of management is to get parents to appreciate that recurrent respiratory infections are a normal part of childhood.
