Abstract
This case study-based on this practice's application for the 2003 HIMSS Davies Award for Primary Care-describes the processes, costs and benefits of the implementation of an EHR in a solo practice. The organization, management and value of an EHR implementation is described, as well as a description of the physician's 15 business objectives, which shows how each objective was met and to what degree and gives specific financial data. An EHR that is implemented in a small practice improves quality of patient care, office efficiency and patient safety. A small practice can realize significant ROI from an EHR.Entities:
