Abstract
Swellings affecting the face and jaws of a strain of outbred BSVS mice are described. The swellings consisted of multiple abscesses which were most commonly associated with the mandible. Staphylococcus aureus of a single phage type was isolated from the abscesses. It is suggested that the organisms gained entry through the oral mucosa.Entities:
