Abstract
Cerebral Palsy encompasses a heterogeneous group of non-progressive motor disorders caused by injury to the developing brain. Management is best done in a multidisciplinary set up under one roof. Comprehensive assessment of the child to evaluate functional ability and associated problems is followed by an individualized plan of management with long term goals and short term objectives. Participation of the family is pivotal to ensure proper habilitation of the child. A home-based management plan is advocated. Considerable experience, sensitivity and understanding are needed both for breaking the news and counselling the parents of a child with cerebral palsy.Entities:
