Abstract
Brainstem auditory evoked responses (BAER) were studied in a total of 194 boys in the age group between 10-15 yrs taken from a busy metropolitan city and also from a relatively quiet town in order to compare their values and to look into the probable cause of the difference between them, if any. BAER were tested with the help of Compact-4 (Nicolet, USA) instrument using the standard technique. In general, the BAER values of the two sample populations were found to be almost similar with no gross differences in terms of peak latency and inter peak latencies. The values were found to be comparable to adult male values as reported earlier.Entities:
