Abstract

A spontaneous combined (heterotopic) pregnancy is presented. A review of the literature exemplifies the risk factors for the condition and a set of criteria for more reliable prospective diagnosis. A discussion of the uses and shortcomings of recent technologic advances in the diagnosis and treatment of the condition is then presented.
