Abstract
Eating has important physiological consequences. Experiments in which food and components of food are manipulated in ways to activate various food-contingent physiological signals have revealed mechanisms for eating-elicited satiety and thirst. This kind of approach also has revealed that eating can activate physiological signals for drinking to prevent challenges to fluid homeostasis.Mesh:
