Abstract
Minocycline is a caspase inhibitor, decreases inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), and has been shown to delay disease progression in the mouse model R6/2 of Huntington's disease (HD). This safety and tolerability study included 30 patients with HD who were given minocycline over a 6-month period and underwent assessments every 2 months with laboratory studies, the Abnormal Involuntary Movements Scale, the Unified Huntington's Disease Rating Scale, and the Mini-Mental State Examination.
