Abstract
The majority of injuries sustained by female athletes are due to participation in sports rather than their sex. Anatomic, hormonal,and functional differences should be understood when treating the female athlete. Screening should be done for eating disorders and the female athlete triad. Female athletes have increased rates of injury to the anterior cruciate ligament and patellofemoral disorders compared with their male counterparts.Entities:
