Abstract
Patients on renal dialysis are prone to form areas of metastatic calcification in soft tissues. In this study we have analysed the mammograms of 16 women on renal dialysis and compared them with a control group of 32 women attending for routine mammographic screening. We found a significant increase in vascular and parenchymal calcifications in the women on renal dialysis. Ductal calcifications were no more prevalent in the patients on dialysis, and in no case did the calcification simulate malignancy.Entities:
