Abstract
Stillbirth is the usual fate of theories whose empirical implications at conception are not borne out by actual test. Theories which receive some degree of experimental confirmation, however modest, typically continue to exist as long as there is an interest in the phenomena to which they address themselves or until they are displaced by a more attractive theory.Year: 1971 PMID: 15155173 DOI: 10.1080/00222895.1971.10734902
