Caries prevention in pediatrics: dietary guidelines.

Abstract

Establishment of good dietary habits during infancy and childhood can minimize risk of caries development throughout life. Optimal dietary habits for oral health are consistent with dietary recommendations for systemic health, growth, and development. Minimally processed foods should be provided at defined meals and snacks.
