Brandon G Busbee1.

Abstract

PURPOSE OF REVIEW: In an area of increased willingness to perform surgery as surgical techniques are refined, comes the unavoidable complication of endophthalmitis. Because complete elimination of postsurgical endophthalmitis appears unattainable, strategies directed at optimal prevention, diagnosis, and management are constantly pursued. RECENT
FINDINGS: Recent reports of the various aspects of endophthalmitis were analyzed from the leading peer-reviewed ophthalmic journals.
SUMMARY: The author reviews the recent work concerning the factors that affect visual prognosis in postsurgical endophthalmitis.
