Abstract
Although colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of death in the US, the majority of diagnoses are made at an advanced stage, and screening detects 70% at an early stage, controversy has existed because of a lack of experimental controlled trial evidence showing a decrease in mortality. Indirect and now direct evidence supports the current screening guidelines of the American Cancer Society and the National Cancer Institute as reasonable and should be continued.Entities:
