Abstract
Integrin transmembrane receptors have a unique property that distinguishes them from other signaling receptors. Their affinity for ligands can be modulated from the inside out in response to intracellular signals generated by non-integrin receptors. Recent findings provide novel mechanistic insights into this process by demonstrating that talin, a protein that links integrins to actin, is necessary for the inside-out activation of integrins.Entities:
