Abstract
A 78-year-old man was admitted because of hemoptysis. CT and aortogram revealed double aortic arch. Bronchofiberscopy revealed intratracheal hemorrhage which was associated with right aortic arch. An emergency operation was performed to prevent massive intra-tracheal bleeding. The patient underwent ligation of the right aortic arch through median sternotomy. After operation, hemoptysis disappeared and the postoperative course was uneventful. Surgical cases of double aortic arch are rare, especially with critical hemoptysis in aged patients.Entities:
