The use of gutta-percha for obturation during root canal therapy in latex-allergic patients.

Abstract

This article discusses using gutta-percha to obturate the root canal system of a latex-allergic patient and the possibility for an adverse reaction from the components in commercially produced gutta-percha. Precautions, treatment suggestions, and possible alternatives for endodontic treatment of latex-allergic patients are discussed.
