[Current problems of epidemiology and diagnosis of trichinosis in the European Union and in Poland].

The paper reviews the current status of trichinellosis in Poland and in Europe. It aims to draw attention of Polish sanitary, veterinary and health services to the new threats of the disease. Additionally a revised approach to diagnosing trichinellosis is presented taking into account that it can be also caused by other then Trichinella spiralis Trichinella species.
