NF kappa B: biology and pathology--Keystone Symposium. 11-16 January 2004, Snowbird, UT, USA.

This Keystone Symposium, focusing on the transcription factor NFkappaB, was held at the Snowbird ski resort. More than 350 academic and pharmaceutical industry scientists attended the meeting. Talks and posters ranged from basic science (signaling, chromatin modifications and new NFkappaB gene targets) to animal models for disease and clinical trials with NFkappaB inhibitors. Drugs that block NFkappaB inhibitors include retinoids, IkappaB kinase inhibitors, non-steroidal compounds and proteasome inhibitors. These pharmaceutical approaches and their disease relevance are discussed below.
