Abstract
When an injury occurs and the skin is damaged, the process of tissue repair begins immediately, but some wounds can take up to two years or more to heal completely. Healing is usually categorised into stages to aid understanding of the complex physiological processes that are occurring. However, it is a continuous process and different parts of a wound may be at different stages of healing at any one time.Mesh:
