Abstract
The case reported in this issue of symmetrical brain stem damage associated with exposure to methylbromide has affinities with a number of analogous syndromes associated with tissue energy deprivation. Attention is drawn to topographical and metabolic similarities and differences in these conditions, and suggestions are made for possible ways of mitigating the damage in future cases that may also be of value in Wernicke and Leigh's diseases.Entities:
