Abstract
A brief historical review of cavernostomy is presented. The mechanics of cavity closure are considered.A follow-up of the first seven cases of cavernostomy performed by the authors in 1940-41 with the use of a skin flap is given. Cavernostomy is a procedure useful at times, but within sharp limitations.Keywords: TUBERCULOSIS, PULMONARY-SURGERY
