Abstract
Vulvar fissures occur in two main patterns: at the posterior fourchette, and within skin folds and creases. The cause of posterior fourchette splitting is not known, and the treatment is a perineoplasty. Skin-fold fissures occur in response to several inflammatory dermatoses or infections, and therapy consists of elimination of any underlying infection and the (sometimes prolonged) use of a topical corticosteroid ointment.Entities:
