Carlo Di Pietrantonj1, Lorenza Ferrara, G Lomolino.

Abstract

A point-prevalence study of nosocomial infections was conducted in 10 general hospitals in northwestern Italy in June and July 2000. Infection rates were compared by type and site among the different hospitals. Urinary tract infections were most frequent, accounting for 57.8% of 128 nosocomial infections.
