Perceiving musical scale structures. A cross-cultural event-related brain potentials study.

Abstract

In this study, event-related brain potentials (ERPs) are used to investigate the processing of musical scale structures from a cross-cultural perspective. ERP reactions reveal that universal listening strategies per se are modified by culture.
