Abstract
Various characteristics of atopic allergic disorders seem to be causally related with the activation of allergen-specific T helper lymphocytes with a type 2 cytokine secretion profile, including high levels of interleukin-4 and interleukin-5. These cytokines are responsible for the occurrence of elevated levels of serum allergen-specific IgE and eosinophilia and play an important role in local inflammatory reactions.Entities:
