Abstract
A case of life-threatening Salmonella enterica serotype Enteritidis pneumonia in a febrile patient with lung cancer is described. The organism was isolated from the sputum, the protected specimen brush material of bronchial secretions, and the stool. Despite the early administration of appropriate and adequate treatment, the patient died 7 days after the onset of the infection.Entities:
