Abstract
Vibrio cholerae induces either non-inflammatory diarrhea or inflammatory gastroenteritis, depending on the presence of cholera toxin, a fluid secretion inducer and a modulator of host immunity. In the absence of cholera toxin, other toxins induce inflammation, resulting in gastroenteritis. Thus, multiple toxins likely affect the safety of live attenuated vaccines.Entities:
