Abstract
Markers of multiple hematopoietic lineages are expressed in multipotent progenitors, a phenomenon referred to as "lineage priming." A new study in this issue of Immunity provides compelling evidence that such "promiscuous" gene expression occurs in hematopoietic stem cells and does not interfere with their long-term repopulation potential.Mesh:
