[Oral candidiasis as the first manifestation of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection. An analysis of 2 cases].

Abstract

The authors report two cases in which unexplained oral candidiasis led to the diagnosis of HIV infection with clinical form of AIDS-related complex (ARC). It is highlighted that the dentist showed investigate the causes of every unexplained oral candidiasis in adult because this opportunist infection may be the first sign of immunosuppression associated with AIDS and AIDS-related syndromes.
