Abstract
In soft-tissue sarcoma, wide tumour excision (R0) has become the most important factor in local tumour control. Nowadays, radical scapulectomy with limb salvage is the treatment of choice for soft-tissue sarcomas of the shoulder girdle. We present the case of a 78-year-old man with extended low-grade fibrosarcoma of the left shoulder girdle. Despite his age, radical scapulectomy with intraoperative radiation and functional reconstruction of the shoulder girdle with a myocutaneous trapezius flap was performed. Good functional and aesthetic results could be obtained.Entities:
