Abstract
A 62-year-old woman, long suspected of having heart disease, was admitted to our hospital for thorough examination. Her hemoglobin level was 17.7 g/dl and her 2.3-DPG level was 8.90 microM/ml RBC. The patient proved to have polycythemia, hemoglobin Kansas, and diabetes mellitus. To our knowledge, this is the third case of hemoglobin Kansas in the world.Entities:
