Abstract
Cisplatin is a critically important antineoplastic agent employed in treating patients who have a broad spectrum of neoplasms. Resistance to this agent poses a serious clinical dilemma. The objective of this review is to summarize the principal mechanisms that contribute to cytotoxicity by this agent and underlie resistance. Knowledge of these processes provides a rational basis for developing therapeutic strategies to circumvent resistance.Entities:
