Abstract
Exposure of a hydroxyapatite orbital implant measuring 10 x 3 mm developed in a 25-year-old man. The exposure was repaired with an amniotic membrane graft. Follow-up examinations at 5 days, 2 weeks, 2.5 months, and 5 months after surgery demonstrated closure of the conjunctival defect. The author concludes that amniotic membrane may be useful for the treatment of hydroxyapatite orbital implant exposures.Entities:
