Decrease of acetylcholinesterase activity along peripheral nerves.

L LUBINSKA, S NIEMIERKO, B ODERFELD, L SZWARC.

Abstract

Acetylcholinesterase activity was examined in segments of some peripheral nerves anatomically accessible throughout their length. It decreases linearly with distance from cell bodies, the activity of the terminal part of the nerve being about 30 to 40 percent lower than that of its most proximal part.
