On renal failure complicating surgical diseases (laparotomy etc.), with special regard to conservative treatment, and the need for the artificial kidney (dialyser, ultrafilter) in rational renal therapy; acute tubular nephritis, chronic pyelonephritis and prostatic hypertrophy with urinary retention.
